Well here we are again another weekend playing silly b...........rs with OGO with a new jib! We
went out early and tested with a fellow clubmate tried this and that and went to the starting line with
no acceleration at all Infact I stayed second to last with a fellow clubmate  yes you can guess who  it
was behind me. Tuned ourselves to a standstill is it me? is it the pills ? Is the full moon? No one can
be that slow my start was pretty grim but I had clear wind quickly after the start.  Frank Haslam was
even in front of me my standard benchmark who has come to join again for the rest of the season .

To our total dismay we repeated the performance in the second race we  were half an hour before
low water so we headed for the beach. If we haven,t got weed on our hull  I'll shoot myself. My
crew  excited at the prospect stripped to his underpants and jumped overboard meanwhile I'm
like an expectant father waiting the verdict." Madonna oblongata"the hull's got a green beard
everywhere. You mean I DONT HAVE TO SHOOT myself . The dreaded weed and slimewas
well a truly fastened to my hull. We summoned our scotchbrite pan scrubbers and set too and
removed any trace on the hull . There was none on the keel since that was properly coppered
by Peter White several years ago. The hull unfortunately was not treated. The temperature of the
seawater has risen significantly over the past two weeks as witnessed by the growth on the anchor
chains. If your more that 300 yrads off the pace at windward mark  call in the scrubbers.

Sunday arrives after much consternation as what was that matter with OGO's helmsmen , he's
over doing it, its the pills you know . Everyone I met were very friendly and seeking my welfare
especially the women. God knows what was said in the clubhouse but Johns underpants and me
rushing to the car to get more scrubbers must have alarmed them all.

I am happy to report that we were back amongst the megastars again for the first time in many
weeks  to exchange verbal insults. However  the problem of my  fellow clubmate was not resolved
and the hull must be his first port of call before he hits the water again. One weekend of Racing left
 before the Nats. Cant wait!
