MARCH 31ST Kidderminster - Knackers Yard
Well this blog has seven more days before it reaches its objective of getting me sailing again at SCYC.
The pills for beta blocking are still chilling me out to the extent I could stay in bed forever. That may
be natural to many but not to me. Drove to Newcastle in the week my legs were heavy and were aching
both to and from Newcastle. My achilles is causing more trouble than the bye pass still I'm not running
a four minute mile when in the squib but it could be useful to keep up with Rasco when he comes
ashore each day at Easter to buy us all a pint.
Today is coppershield touch up day, tenting the boat and oil heater cooking the hull to 15-18oC. Leaving
the proper job to week before Nationals its warmer and needs to be undercover. Check all the fittings for
wear and tear on rigging deck and internal bits and bobs and clean and paint inside where necessary.
My recovery is as good as the advice I have followed . I can walk 4-5 km each day without bother. My
aerobic recovery is remarkable quick and the pills keep the pulse rate down. It will probably take another
2 - 3 months to feel confident to run, do heavy lifting as I was capable of before. To establish my final
pill daily dosage and to recover this carbuncle of tendon repair. Nil desperandum, so give this old fart
plenty of room at the marks so that Frank Haslam and I can fight for last place. We wish to bed our
2007 seasons campaign in slowly but surely. Furling our jib with consummate ease we hope.
