March 24th -25th SCYC
Down to Abersoch 3 hour run through those beautiful mountains passed old haunts of Bala SC ,
Forestry roads vrum vrum not today Darling, the odd Red Kite and millions of little white blobs.
Sorry Gerard, little sheeps. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Its these bloody pills I'm going soft and sentimental
or is just the last bit.Did some great walks in beautiful weather plus the homage down the beach to
watch some idiot lose his speedboat and trailer stuck in the sand on an incoming tide. The wife dragged
me away from charitable assistance 4x 4 and speed boats not a good mix at Abersoch where keel
boats on the beach are concerned. It was a slow death and frozen to death had we watched
to completion.
Still to make the Sunday lunchtime drink at the club an enjoyable get together we met up with
Frank Haslam and his good lady and compared detailed notes of being in the Zipper Club. What
was even more intriguing was that Franks wife was a Cardiac Nurse so there we were comparing
every nuance of the clinical process whilst being overheard by some members who must be in there
late eighties.Just think Frank we shall be in that corner hopefully in 20 years time mulling over when
was the last time you bought me a drink and today was the day. Frank and I have had many great races in
GP'S that I can remember and yet Frank has been in Squibs over many more years and very successful
too. His name is plastered over the walls of SCYC in Squibbo, His annual cruise in the Bahamas becons
after the Easter Bash, he knows when to come on the water and thats the end of May. I need the
practice Frank!
