February 13th Kidderminster Action Heart ....Circuit Training
The newby on the block at Action Heart. 20 people present only 3 women says a lot. Have
a monitor strapped on my chest beamed onto a monitor wrist watch. Made to feel very welcome
as the newby by Sally who got us all in rows just like a JJB session, but sadly without the triple
fitting tights and the nubile young bodies that fit into them.

Still we started nice and slowly with marching to music and slowly progressed through all the muscles
that have done nothing over the past 10 weeks. It really became a sweatshop within thirty minutes,
doing 2 minutes per exercise , then onto the next. At one stage for those senior sailors amongst us it
got into some very peculiar step sequences that wouldn't be lost in  modern sequence dancing.Meanwhile
we keep marching to the beat of the music.

Take a quick re-hydration ......Drink! A role call of Heartbeats taken by each individual was given out
95,82,108,115,120, .........mine was 138 ! don't worry Martin its your first time ,you'll take three
sessions till we see you near your target figure.Small knowing smiles pervade the room.... and off we go again,
now I am starting to slightly drip whilst others are either breathing heavy or its pouring off them others ....
nothing .......not a glimmer .

At the end of the second round yet another drink and another Heartbeat Roll call 136 this time. Finally we
have a cooling down period whilst walking and covering the same exercises as the warm up. That over
with everyone disappears into a room where everyone sits down and relaxes with small talk on stress
management which suggests 10 minutes everyday everyone should do this relaxation for both  body
and mind. A one 2 one with Sally and then your final heartbeat figure and marks out of 10 of severity
of session ready for the possible changes for the next session this Thursday.Heartbeat 90.

Nb My current heartbeat is 72/ 120........like a gazelle!

Rasco this beats your Health Plan as my past crews will confirm I don't often sweat in the boat but I
sometime sw,,,,,,, a little. Rating of Severity 1 very easy 20 very very hard . Rating 11

slowly round the room doing many of the exercises we did in warm up. The role came Jim  85...Beryl 105
Ben...95....Martin (Me) 136  small smiles passed around the room
